Miku had that short solo and I didn't miss that her fingers were flying. Still the best rock band on the planet.
Great harvest so far this year - first they served us *Zen* , which was - in my opinion - one of their finest moments, and now this absolute masterpiece, hardly two months later. And they seem to have a plan: MIko is more and more coming to the fore in playing (short) solo parts. It's a subtle, step-by-step process - and for me a token that their journey is far from over. Beautiful prospects.

The anime just aired, and the performance scenes in the anime were motion-captured from Kanami and Akane's actual playing movements!
So, the characters' movements in the anime perfectly match Kanami and Akane’s real performances. Just like in the MV, the guitar and drums were battling, and their movements were exactly the same as in the MV!

I have a whole playlist of 40 Band-Maid songs that I think are better. I'm sure this song will grow on me but I consider Band-Maid the best rock band ever so to put this at the top is maybe a bit premature, to say the least

Maybe because it's not 'rock' you think of. It's more bold. I found this song a bit challenging on first listen.
Love the way vocal comes in straight after Akane's intro drum without any pause. The way vocal and instruments are interwoven is different.
The chorus melody is certainly familiar but somehow sounds fresh and experimental at the same time. I think the vocal melody is intentionally kept minimalistic apart from those high notes, because the band in the anime is an instrumental band so instrumental is the main focus while the chorus is chiming in your head on the permanent loop.
No, it isn't. But it is another good song from the Maids.
