Took me a good long while to pull this together, and to be completely honest...I'm not overly happy with the result, but I had to get this out of my system so there. I do like the lineart, although it is kinda stiff at places. I just suck doing these overhead views of people resting in soft...void..something :D
haha anyway.
The characters started out as totally random ones, but things started to live as I worked on the piece....
So there's Clay (the human one) comforting his werewolf friend Devin. I imagine the scene being like the aftermath of Devin finally telling Clay that he's indeed a werewolf. Devin was, of course, afraid of Clay's reaction and that he'd reject him (as in OMGSORRYTHATIMSUCHAUGLYBEAST). And when Clay (after recovering from the initial shock) accepts him as he is, well I guess some cuddling ensues :3c (what else can you do but to submit if a werewolf of that size would pounce on you?)
Yush they're friends but I like the sappy stuff so much so of course Devin is secretly in loooove~ with Clay, which is why he's so clingy and blushy.
With my werewolf characters I think that they can act as they would as humans, although they have the predatory instincts in there somewhere. I guess that some can keep the instincts at bay while others might go crazy because of it? Anyway, even though Devin is very shy and quiet and wouldn't never-ever considering being this bold and cling on to his love interest like this, I think he's more self-confident and brave in his wolf form.

Love it!!!! Insta-faved!
Would have made Devin's toes and tail curl up a bit as all the rest of his body seems tense with his paws tightly gripping Clay and all curled up in a fetal position, Clay looks a bit overly straight or stiff, but of course he IS being hugged by a giant wolf...
Then again, I cant draw to save my life, so im probably just talking nonsense :D I still absolutely love your art, like I said in other submissions, you have a unique way of drawing your characters so that they look tough but also empathetic.
Cant wait to see more from you! I'm also intrigued about this world and characters you're beginning to create with this image.

Fear of rejection.
This is very powerful and probably hits home with your audience. Its a beautiful picture even if you don't like it. You captured the truth of your message perfectly and I keep coming back to it to appreciate it. Devin also has a kick ass fur pattern. xoxox

Very beautiful. when I saw the picture, At first I thought it represented someone and their furry self. Kind of like a self acceptance sort of thing. Kind of like how someone attempts to sell their fursuit and their fursona is like, nuuuu. Hehe reminded me of myself.
Great pic. I love the actual story behind it too

I agree that the lineart may be a little stiff in places, but I still think that this is quite good overall.
I'm with you on the "werewolves acting mostly like they would as humans" thing, though of course there are SOME predatory instincts in there somewhere. Following on that theme, I'd imagine that the expression of those instincts would be heavily influenced by the personality/temperament of the werewolf, much like human expression of biologically influenced behaviors is filtered through one's personality and upbringing. You know, the whole nature/nurture dichotomy. The ones who go crazy from them were probably kind of mean and aggressive already, or had anger issues that they really weren't handling well even before the whole "werewolf" thing was thrown into the mix.

This is possible, have you ever felt that feeling of wanting to do everything for a friend?
That feeling is also dependence, you love the company of that person, but you also need him around because you have a lot of appreciation for this person and you care what this person thinks of you and his safety.
The truth is that I can imagine a Werewolf opening up in that sense if a loved one discovers his secret and decides to listen to what he has to say.
